These are the best bluetooth motorcycle intercoms
Looking for the best motorcycle Bluetooth headsets to keep you connected while riding? You’ve come to the right place. Bluetooth helmet systems make motorcycle riding more enjoyable and safer. Connect with your riding group, take phone calls, listen to music—modern Bluetooth systems can handle that, and plenty more.
The only question is, which one should you choose? The list will break down the best of the best, the best for certain situations, and the best for a budget. Let’s get into it.
About Our Selections
You have a few things to consider, chief among them is what kind of riding you're going to be doing. We're not meaning this in the sense of if you're going to be on a sport bike or a cruiser, but if you're riding solo, two-up, with a couple of friends, or a group ride. There are intercoms for each style of riding out there, so knowing what you'll be doing is a good first step.
One you know what kind of intercom you will need, we've made our selections based on hands on reviews, features, connectivity, and ease of use, as well as value for money. We are certain that any of the systems recommended today will be perfect for your music and intercom needs. Just remember as a beginner rider, however, to dedicate your focus to your riding, and for that reason, we recommend having at least a season under your belt before picking up an intercom.
Cardo Freecom 2X
An intercom perfect for solo or two-up riding
Why We Picked It:
Many of us have a regular riding buddy or ride two up with a partner. Being able to maintain that connection without having to spend the premium price level is very appealing. This is where the Freecom 2X excels.
Packing many of the premium features such as Bluetooth 5.2 for connecting mobile phones and GPS at the same time, 1/2-mile range, 40mm JBL speakers, and hands-free operation, like the top tier systems, have.
At roughly 60% of the price of the flagship models the Freecom 2X connects 2 riders, and is brilliant when riding two up, or close to your friend. Share your music or maintain Live Intercom now you can truly feel like you are enjoying the ride together.
Cardo also has a Freecom 4X model that connects 4 riders and has a longer range of 3/4 mile. The 4X is roughly $50 more, and while it’s a great unit also, I find it makes the most sense for those who often ride with another couple (so that having 4 connections becomes more valuable).

Syphon SoundPro
Not really an intercom, but it sounds so good during solo riding we just had to include it
Why We Picked It:
Sometimes you just want to get a leg over your bike, hit the open road, and rock out. One of the biggest complaints people have with the big-name Bluetooth systems is always the sound quality. Either they just aren’t loud enough to overcome the road noise, have no bass response, or the sound just is poor overall.
Earbuds can work for some but can be uncomfortable. What can a rider do that just wants to turn it up and ride? Syphon has you covered with the SoundPro setup for your helmet.
The SoundPro system is a simple dial unit and 2 robust speakers with built-in microphones. Mount the control unit to the side of your helmet, fit the speakers and you are good to go. Bluetooth 5.0 easily pairs with your phone and allows Siri or Google hands-free functionality. The control unit is an intuitive dial, with easy-to-control volume and function controls.
When it comes to features there is really just one, the sound. The Syphon SoundPro system can go loud. You have all the output you would ever want, with better bass than most systems.
Now generally I would be down on loudness under a helmet, but in this case, the SoundPro works well. Riding with proper ear protection to deal with wind and environmental noise should be standard. The SoundPro has enough volume to make listening to music with earplugs in, work very well. You can get the bass response, and clear audio while still muting away the wind noise.
You can make calls at low speeds, the microphones will pick that up, and they filter out the wind/road noise, but this is a weak point. This is also not an intercom-style system, so do not expect to connect to another rider unless it is via a phone call.
If you just want to listen to tunes and hate earbuds, the Syphon SoundPro system rocks.

Cardo PackTalk Edge
The best of the best when it comes to motorcycle intercom systems
Why We Picked It:
The Packtalk Edge is the latest flagship model from Cardo. This is the unit of choice when you want to have every cutting-edge feature available right now.
The entire package is sleeker thanks to doing away with the pop-up antenna. It now attaches to the mounting plate on a helmet with a slick magnetic connection. It has long battery life, resistance to extreme weather, 1-mile range, excellent voice command capability, wireless software updates, incredible new 40mm JBL Speakers, and lots of ways to customize the system to your liking.
Edge units employ second-generation Dynamic Mesh technology, which simplifies pairing and improves intercom sound quality. A small detail I truly appreciate with the Cardo system is that the speakers can be swapped easily for earbuds, thanks to Cardo continuing to use a 3.5mm jack for speaker connections.
This unit is perfect if you need to connect to larger groups. Cardo has the intercom system well sorted for easy switching to just one rider, and then back to the group again. Pairing with other brands is also much easier with the Packtalk Edge.

SENA 50C
When you want to chat or listen to music while also recording your ride
Why We Picked It:
Sena is the other leading name in Bluetooth Communications systems, and with the 50C, they have a product no one else can match.
The flagship model(s) from Sena are the 50 series, and all that goodness has been built into the 50C plus a 4K action camera. Somehow they managed to do all this and keep the entire package down to just 90 grams and not much larger than some other brands’ Bluetooth offerings.
Just like the 50S and 50R, this unit has Harman Kardon speakers, quick pairing, 1-mile range, mesh technology, and voice activation with Google or Siri, but then you also get a sweet camera.
The 50C packs an integrated camera that is ready to capture any moment along your ride. Shoot video in 4K at 30 frames per second or take 12MP photos in still shot, burst, or time-lapse mode.
This is the Bluetooth system to buy if you want to capture for a vlog, or social media, and still have all the great features you expect from a premium unit

SENA Stryker Mesh Intercom Helmet
If you want a helmet with an intercom built in, you can't go wrong with this beauty
Why We Picked It:
Do you just want to buy a helmet with everything built in? No messing around with wires trying to fit a Bluetooth system, or dealing with the frackle hanging off the side of your shiny new lid. If that is you then you need to look at the Sena Stryker helmet.
The Stryker is Sena’s latest full-face smart helmet, featuring Mesh Intercom and Bluetooth Intercom technology, as well as premium speakers and a microphone designed by Harman Kardon. Basically, they took the Sena flagship 50 series electronics and fitted them into a DOT-approved helmet.
Sena’s Stryker Helmet tops it off with a retractable sun visor for on-the-fly shade, an impressive seven-vent design for all your cooling needs, and an integrated tail light for maximum visibility to those around you. The Stryker is an excellent choice for those who want the best electronics prebuilt into a good-looking full-face helmet.
